Raaga Benefits: The raaga is supposed to raise the Kundalini power of an individual when practiced in proper shruti/pitch and swara sthAnAs. Probably this is one of the reasons, the basic exercises in Carnatic music are composed in this raaga by Purandaradasa.

Raaga Benefits: Since the raaga borrows its swaras from ShankarabharaNa, its a member of Spirit Chakra.  The raaga is considered auspicious and guided by Heavenly Souls. The raaga is known for its Brigas(orderly arrangement of phrases/swaras, sung in faster pace) and these Brigas improve the breathing, promoting good health.
